Greek Teachers Strengthen Sustainability Education Skills through EntoFARM Webinar

On 27 May 2026, teachers from across Greece participated in the EntoFARM Teachers Webinar, an online capacity-building event held via Zoom as part of the Erasmus+ project EntoFARM – Promoting Circular Economy Strategies through Open Source Insect Farm Technology among School Children.

The webinar brought together educators, researchers, and sustainability experts to explore innovative approaches to teaching circular economy principles, sustainable agriculture, and STEM subjects. Participants gained valuable insights into how insect farming can be used as an engaging educational tool, helping students better understand resource efficiency, waste reduction, environmental responsibility, and sustainable food systems.

A highlight of the event was the expert presentations delivered by Dr. Georgia Baliota from the University of Thessaly and Associate Professor Eirini Karanastasi from the Department of Agriculture at the University of Patras. The speakers introduced the educational resources and learning materials being developed within the EntoFARM project and demonstrated practical ways in which these tools can be integrated into classroom teaching. Through interactive discussions, participants exchanged experiences, shared best practices, and explored innovative methods for promoting sustainability through hands-on and experiential learning.

The webinar emphasized the vital role of teachers in preparing young people to address environmental challenges and contribute to a more sustainable future. By equipping educators with innovative knowledge, practical resources, and new teaching approaches, the EntoFARM project seeks to strengthen environmental awareness, enhance STEM education, and inspire the next generation of environmentally conscious citizens.

The EntoFARM consortium would like to sincerely thank all participants for their active engagement and valuable contributions to the success of the event. Together, we are fostering a stronger educational community committed to sustainability, innovation, and lifelong learning.
