EntoFARM made its mark in Štip, North Macedonia, with the successful pilot implementation at the Goce Delčev Elementary School, turning classrooms into living labs for sustainability and circular economy education.
Through hands-on activities and interactive learning, students and teachers explored the fascinating world of insect farming, discovering how organic waste can be transformed into valuable resources. Using an open-source, low-cost insect farming unit, participants learned by doing: feeding mealworms, observing their life cycle, and understanding their role in sustainable food systems and agriculture.
The pilot brought together education, innovation, and environmental responsibility, empowering young learners to engage directly with real-world solutions for waste reduction and resource efficiency. More than a demonstration, the Štip pilot showed how circular economy principles can be embedded in everyday school life, inspiring curiosity, critical thinking, and a new generation of sustainability champions.
🌱 From Štip to Europe, EntoFARM is planting the seeds of change.
